Anya Hindmarch Opens Additional Stores in Asia

LANDMARK LANDING: Anya Hindmarch is planting more flags in Asia, with plans to open a store in The Landmark in Hong Kong on Oct. 15. It is her second store in the Chinese city, with the first located in Causeway Bay. The 350-square feet store will reflect the designer’s “Do Computers Dream When They Sleep?” theme from her runway show last February, and will carry the fall 2016 range. Store interiors will feature smiley face artwork from London-based designers Julie Cockburn and Ryan Callanan. The designer recently set up shop in Singapore last month. The 1,640 square feet store is located in the Takashimaya department store, and features furniture designed by Martino Gamper. Hindmarch currently has 53 stores globally, and the brand is sold in department stores including Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Isetan and Colette. In Asia, the brand has 59 points of sale, in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The designer was in Hong Kong earlier this year for an event with Lane Crawford. She noted that she has a special fondness for China — her son studied in Beijing for a year during his university days, and her husband’s grandfather was the British ambassador to China in the Thirties.
