Berta Bridal Fall 2017
Israeli bridal designer Berta Balilti is known for her unapologetically glamorous gowns and her fall show she did not disappoint. Inspired by the world of botany, Balilti focused on the flower and what the flower represents; in her collection notes, she stated “gowns were created for the bride to bloom on the biggest day of her life.” The 30-piece collection ranged from sexy body-skimming silhouettes to voluminous princess cuts. Each dress was beautifully crafted using such techniques as 3-D flowers, lace appliqués and plenty of rich embellishments with high shine — after all, a bride should sparkle on her day. Balilti showed Art Deco-influenced gowns such as a hand-crafted lace embroidered dress with silver fringe; there was also a nod to boho with an off-the-shoulder hand-embroidered lace gown featuring a long train and open back. The majority of the show was high-wattage glam, for example, sexy body-skimming lace dresses with maximum beading and embroideries, or a fully embellished lace gown and matching coat.
