Ines Di Santo Bridal Fall 2017
Let them eat cake, literally. Ines Di Santo’s runway was a replica of a French pastry shop with playful oversize desserts that set the tone for the delightful show. And indeed, her fall bridal collection was inspired by a beautiful patisserie as she sent out sweet and frothy confections. Di Santo showed plenty of voluminous tulle gowns with delicate lace and intricate embroideries that were whimsical yet elegant. The designer infused shots of color such as pale pinks and soft blues in delicate floral embroideries. A few noteworthy gowns included a multicolored embroidered soft tulle ballgown with a scoop neckline and illusion sleeves; a sleeveless re-embroidered lace sheath with hand embroidery and a cascading detachable ruffled train; and even a playful romper with a lace-embellished high-low train. Di Santo had a few undeniably Marie Antoinette moments such as the powder blue column gown with intricate embroidery and a detachable multi-ruffled overskirt with 3-D floral appliqués. For the grand finale, the models wore pastry-themed headbands in their hair…now that’s taking a theme and running with it.
